Catch Up

Wow, I've really been letting the blog go. Time to get back on track. I know I'm leaving out a lot but here is a bit of what's been going on. Makayla is finally potty trained. She is doing a really great job. We are so proud of her. We had another snow day where we actually had snow on the ground, which means no school for 2 days and a delayed opening on the 3rd day. Taylor got her palette expander out of her mouth and is happy to be able to chew gum again. She had an awful rash all over her cheeks and 5 doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. After several visits she is diagnosed with Gianotti Crosti Syndrome which is basically a viral infection that came out in rash form on her. She then spreads the virus to Jake and Makayla who get the virus and were throwing up for days (try potty training a kid with the runs). Jake is doing great in school. He just had his 3rd quarter awards and got the math, spelling, and homework awards. We started up the carnival again and had our 1st spot of the season over spring break. The kids loved it and brought home 4 new pets (goldfish). Oh we somehow wind up with another dog, a rottweiler mix named Chopper. Now just a few stories to remember the funny things kids say (the main reason for starting a blog in the 1st place).

1. Taylor Runs Away - One day after telling Taylor to pick her toys up for the hundredth time, she explodes. She says, "That's it! It's the final straw. I'm moving out. I'm going to live with Grandma & Grandpa. I'm never coming back. I'm going to Jersey!" Then she goes upstairs and packs her backpack with her pajamas and stuffed animals and brings them downstairs. I ask her how she is going to get there and she tells us she is going to call Grandpa up to come and get her (he is in NJ at the time). After a long talk she decides to stay.

2. Jake tells me why he is so smart - "Grandpa taught me everything he knows."

3. Taylor on puddle jumping - "Some moms let their kids jump in the puddles when it's raining out and get all muddy. You are not that type of mom." (Next warm rainy day, we are jumping in puddles)

4. Makaya on love - "Do you know who I love? I love Mommy and Daddy and Grandpa and Grandpa and Jake and Taylor and Milo and Chopper and Aunt Evelyn, and Uncle Phil (who she calls Uncle Will), and Aunt Jillian and Uncle Jarett, etc."

5. Jake sets me straight - "Mom, the cotton candy trailer you are working in belonged to Grandpa's mom. You do not own it." (Thanks for clearing that up Jake).

6. Taylor gives me the number list - "1st of all, those are dirty pajamas, 2nd of all, I was putting them in the hamper, and 3rd of all I'm trying to get dressed"
